It contains millions of specimens, of which 6.312 are identified, photographed and catalogued. 3.056 specimens are fossils.
They represent 1.615 species (202 sp.), of which 1.019 are fossils.
Part of the collection are the
Cesare Brizio collection and the
Plummercell slides of Karl-Otto Bock.
